Visit Sweden with HIVE

Digital solution for Visit Sweden

Develope a digital soluion for Visit Sweden, to market Sweden as a tourist destination, primarily to be used at the World Expo in Dubai.

Programs used:
Figma, Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop

This is a project I made as an intern at Humblebee, in their HIVE-team. We teamed up with Visit Sweden to develope a digital service/product to showcase Sweden as a tourist destination. The intention was to use it at the World Expo in Dubai during tourist week. We decided on making an app that showcased Sweden as a tourist destination in a playful and interactive way.

The process started with ideation workshops and creative sprints, research, sketching wireframes and testing.

In the end, we managed to do a functional PWA, including the three core functionalities; filtering, swipeing and save collections. It also includes an onboarding to make sure the user will understand the functionality and the purpose of the app.

To the right, you can see a recording of the Figma-prototype of the final app. Here you can see the filtering function, which consists of two steps, first you pull a slider towards one of the end points of a spectrum. Then you select tags related to that point on the spectrum. We did this kind of filtering function for mainly two reasons; Visit Sweden already has a tag-system that would go well with this, and it gives the user the ability to be more specific on what kind of activities and places they are interested in.

During this project, I learned how to use After Effects to make animations, and then use Bodymovin to create json-files. I also became more confident setting up design sprints and create prototypes to test on users.

I’m also more confident as a digital designer. There’s still a lot to learn, but I do know how to google and my brain does know how to create new neurological connections.
